The Columbiana Church of Christ is composed of people who believe that Christ is their Lord and Savior. This belief stems from regular and serious study of God’s word, the Bible. We love Jesus because He sacrificed himself for our sins. We find that is not only our duty by an honor and privilege to obey God’s word.
The church follows the New Testament pattern. The name, church of Christ, is taken from scripture. “All the churches of Christ salute you.” Romans 16:16. The name is used to describe the church as belonging to Christ. The New Testament in its entirety is the only “creed” and only rule of faith and practice. “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heave and earth has been given to me.'” Matthew 28:18
Christ is the head of the church. “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 1:22-23. Each congregation of the church of Christ is autonomous. Elders are selected according to the New Testament standard. 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. These men oversee the congregation.
